INTRODUCTION: All our graphic come complete with "Transfer Paper" ( like masking tape ) and is the transfer devise for your graphics. We recommend using the Tape Registration method ( shown below ) and not any kind of Hinge method. Installation temperature is best at 70 degrees. Never in the sun. After installation protect from freezing for 72 hours. Never start installing your graphics on the Front Fender. This is your two most extreme compound curves and the most difficult part of the project. Start with the tank or your most flat areas and gain some experience. Then do the installation on your Front Fender last. Prepare the surface for graphic installation with Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) or Xyolene (Available at local hardware store). Blade Design - Click On Each Image For Larger View Tape graphic in place with masking tape. Pull tape out away from paint and cut with Exacto Knife where the tape meets the graphic. Caution - do not to scratch the paint! You now have two Tape Registration reference points.
Peel the "Liner Backing" from the back of the graphic exposing the glue backside of graphic. Lightly spray graphic tank area with Rapid Tac liquid or our water soap recipe we supply with all orders. Squeegee all flat areas that do conform at this point in time. Not all the graphic needs to fit or be squeegeed at this point. Slowly remove pieces of the transfer tape. Notice that after removing transfer tape we have a few spots that want to wrinkle, but this is not a problem at all.
As you can see the Exacto Knife blade will go behind the wrinkle and since the graphics is still somewhat wet, we can use this point to pull up this piece of the design, so we can re-lay it in the correct position. If you stretch the vinyl a bit in this process it's not a problem. Our vinyl is very high tech and has "Memory" built into it. Any minor stretches can be fixed by allowing the vinyl to sit on it's own for 4 to 5 minutes and let it "Shrink" back into place. When all the graphic are down and in the correct position, use your thumb and carefully push and remaining liquid and air from under the graphic. Any air that won't remove from under the graphic will dissipate through the vinyl when set in warm sun. This will cure the graphics and make them more solid and stable. Now it's time to set in the sunshine. Sun will cure your graphics. Note: Never use Squeegee on graphic itself. You can damage the clear vinyl laminate on top of the graphic. Use the transfer paper or the slick side of the liner backing of graphic for any squeegee process. On this install we didn't need to use the squeegee, we used our thumb and slowly pulled off the transfer paper before the graphic was dry allowing us to float the graphic into place. We also repositioned the graphic and or parts of the graphic when necessary while keeping the graphic wet. Remember reapply liquids when needed. You can do certain small pieces dry without the wet process. Take Your Time And Use Patience - It's The Key To Success! Wet Application Recipe In an 8 ounce Spray Bottle: 8 ounces of water 1 drop - liquid hand soap ( it's milder than dish soap ) 1/2 teaspoon - Isopropyl Alcohol ( rubbing alcohol ) Care Information Do not wash or get wet for 72 hours after installation. NEVER buff with dry towel. Use dry towel in the same direction as the flames or design runs. Never use dry towel against Flame tips or design edges. After 72 hours of cure time, washing with mild soap and water can be done. Again never go against the flame tips, go with them. Waxing is possible on graphics after 3 to 4 weeks of cure time. Use Only Meguiar's or Mother's Polishes. Avoid Carnauba Paste Waxes. The Do's Of Installing Before installation clean graphic areas with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or Rapid Tac. Take Your Time. Any Air That Can't Be Removed Will Dissipate Within A Few Days. Get Help With Larger Graphics. If You Need A Installer Use Someone With Experience. We Recommend Body Shops, Vinyl Graphic Company, or Window Tint Company. Mostly Body Shops Are Recommended. They're Conscious About Your Paint Job And Know How To Prepare A Painted Surface Best. Always Install In A Cool Temperature (about 70 to 72 degrees) In A Closed Clean Garage. Never Squeegee Directly on the Graphic without the transfer tape or something else like the vinyl graphic backing - with the slick side up. You Will Damage The Clear Laminate. Any Molding Such Scoops or Insets Can Be Done With A Hair Dryer On Low, Lightly Heating The Graphic. Too Much Heat And Graphic Will Act Like Shrink Wrap And Damage The Graphic. Heat And Slowly Press Into Place. Wait 72 Hours Before Washing. Waxing Can Be Done On Graphics For 21 to 28 Days. We Recommend Meguiar's Or Mother's Brand Polishes. Avoid Using Anything With Carnauba Or Silicone In It! Always Hand Wash Or Use Car Wash Wand (not too close of course). Never Use A Brushless Car Wash. How To Remove Our Graphics Heat graphics in the sun if possible. Use caution if using Heat Gun or Hair Dryer around Gas Tank. Without harming your paint, use your finger nail to remove tip of graphic. Pull graphic up and off slowly. Heat if necessary. To Remove any remaining glue use Mineral Spirits or what works best is 3M Citrus Cleaner. Our Graphics have a permanent adhesive but is made to be removable and won't harm or stain your paint.
